FUE Techniques & Tools for FUE Hair Transplant
Micromotor FUE
In Micromotor FUE method, punches are placed in an electrically powered micromotor to remove the hair follicle. The hair is dipped into the skin of the donor area (usually the nape between the two ears and the sides) in accordance with its characteristics (direction and angle) and removed. In this way, the surrounding of the root is cut in a cylindrical shape and the hair follicle becomes loose. Hair follicles are collected one by one with a tool called forceps.
Robotic FUE
Robotic FUE device, supported by a computer, is used by the doctor. Robotic FUE is a method used to obtain hair follicles transplanted during the hair restoration procedure. The expertise and experience of the surgeon and the skill of the technical staff are the most important elements for a successful transplant. One of its important advantages is that the surgeon does not get tired too much as he does not deal with hair follicle collection one by one.
Round incisions are made around the hair follicles by means of the special tips in this device, the hair follicles are collected one by one and accumulated in the inner chamber of the device. Robotic FUE helps to collect hair follicles without damage due to very small incisions, the use of vacuuming to collect the hair follicle and its special reservoir. This technique is only used on people with brown or black straight hair.
DHI hair transplant
DHI hair transplant is a commonly used technique in which the channel is not opened to locate the hair follicle. In the DHI technique, a pen-shaped sharp-tipped tool (Choi needle) is used. While the needle at the tip of the pen opens the channel where the hair follicle will settle, on the other hand, it places the hair follicle by pushing it into the channel it opened in the scalp (that is, there is no special channel opening process). One of the important advantages of the pen is that it can only make holes in the width of the hair root. With the DHI method, it is possible to have a more frequent and denser hair transplant. This method, which is successfully applied to areas with no hair, is also used to tighten the sparse haired area.
Sapphire FUE
In Sapphire FUE technique, the channels where the hair follicle will be placed are opened with sharp, antibacterial sapphire tips that cause very little damage. The diameter of the opened channels is small at the micro level and therefore the healing is very fast.
Hyperbaric FUE
In Hyperbaric type of FUE method, the person is taken to a private room after the hair transplant is completed. The patient is provided to breathe oxygen and the blood oxygen level is increased. This process is done at regular intervals. The applied oxygen will allow the hair follicles to heal faster.
Laser FUE
Laser FUE is not a very common method. There are criticisms that laser beams burn/heat blood vessels and damage them, that blood circulation does not increase, and that hair follicles are low in harmony. In laser FUE (Laser assisted hair transplantation), low-intensity laser beams are used to open the channels to be transplanted. Channels with a diameter of 1-1.3 mm are opened with laser. Bleeding is low during sowing as there will be partial coagulation in the blood vessels.
